“After a long day of traveling from New England and especially Managua, this was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Traveled with wife & 2 young kids. Kids were thoroughly entertained by surfing & swimming at beach & pool the entire time. My kids were not bored once. Waves at Pangas were better & bigger than I anticipated considering it is the off-season. Highly recommend hiring staff to guide you to & from airport…never would have found it without him. Not one complaint. Place was quiet even on the weekends & met other friendly guests as well. Will definitely be coming back!”

“We rented a car in Managua and arrived late at night (not recommended) after driving down many dirt roads, dodging the pedestrians, bikers, and oxen. We finally arrived at a very nice condo and were greeted by the maid. The place was emaculate and all we could ask for and we didn’t venture too often or far after that because we didn’t like the dirt roads. Every morning we walked down to the clubhouse where Marta made us an Acai bowl, a burrito and wonderful coffee. Dinner was also great there. Everything is inexpensive in Nicaragua compared to the States or Costa Rica. The Tona beer is great and only $1. The condo was great. Just needed AC at night in the bedroom was all we needed. Weekends the local nicas came and the pool area was much more noisy and busy, but weekdays were very pleasant. There were lots of towels, but perhaps bring a bar of soap and insect spray for the fleas on the beach at dusk. Maid service was great because of the tiny sugar ants in the kitchen… don’t leave any food out and clean up after yourselves and you’ll be fine. No other bugs this time of year. When we needed clothes washed, the maid did it for us at no cost. Weather was 91 every day we were there and the surf was mostly for beginners. I understand April brings big surf and much hotter temps. The people were very friendly.  We went to San Juan Del Sur one day and never want to return there as it is hot and dirty; lots of young people there though if that’s what you want. We are glad we went and glad we chose Hacienda Iguana. I’m writing this from Costa Rica and missing the breeze and the cheap eats.”

“This condo is perfect! We visited with four adults and one baby for one week over Christmas/New Years. They arranged for a lovely maid to come in daily and cook for us, which was WELL worth the $15 per day. It is such a safe and friendly community. The condo is just as nice as it seems in the pics. We chose to hire a driver to get us there from the airport and had Zack (Google ZNT Tours) take us in to Rivas to go grocery shopping. Next time – I would email Zack ahead of time and have him stock the fridge for us. Hacienda Iguana is remote so make sure you get your grocery shopping done ahead of time. Owners are very helpful, and helped us (via email) order fresh lobster and fish from Manuel, who visits Iguana daily to sell fresh catches. Delightful. You can arrange to have massages in the condo for $45 per hour. If you don’t speak any Spanish, make sure to download a Spanish-English translation app because you will need it to communicate. Or just email owner- they made it seamless.”
